Dr. Mary Lou Sheffer was recently elected Research Chair for the Sports Media group at AEJMC and publisehd a research article in the International Journal on Sports Communication.

Doctoral students Sidharth Muralidharan, Leslie Rasmussen, Daniel Patterson and Dr. Jae-Hwa Shin presented their research paper, "Hope for Haiti: An Analysis of Facebook and Twitter Usage during the Earthquake Relief Efforts," at the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication Conference, Denver, August 2010.

Congratulations!
Dr. Farid Mouzai successfully defended his dissertation this morning. His dissertation, titled "A Portrait of Journalists Working in Algerian Daily Newspapers in the New Millennium," was directed by Dr. Mazharul Haque. This is Dr. Haque's last dissertation meeting.
